A while ago I received a request to collaborate with La Decouverte Art to turn one of my art pieces, namely RAVISHING into a digital animation to be auctioned as an NFT.
NFT = Non-Fungible Token
NFT's are certificates of ownership of a unique digital item such as a an artwork (animated or still) video or recording. These digital receipts reside on the blockchain (which is used to certify authenticity and ownership, as of a specific digital asset and specific rights relating to it) cannot be copied, substituted or subdivided.
Technology is developing rapidly and already found it's way into art decades ago, and I thought it would be a good idea to accept this request.
Usually NFT's are auctioned as a digital file (certificated and protected in the Blockchain as explained above).
But La Découverte Art decided to make it more tangible and provide the NFT with a digital canvas (thus a digital screen) to enjoy the moving art in the best way it deserves.
